Obituary of Maria Rua Amaro

Maria Rua Amaro, age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Alberto Amaro, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Torgueda, Montalegre, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Domingos Gomes and Virginia Rua Gomes. Survivors include her five loving children, Manuel Amaro of Bridgeport, Jack Amaro (Georgette) of Shelton, Domingos Amaro (Susan) of Trumbull, Elaine Piccinino (Ray) of Bridgeport and Louisa Printz of Naugatuck, eight cherished grandchildren, Danyel, David, Jack, Nicole, Jennifer, Michael, Sara and Destiny, four great grandchildren, Brianna, Daniel, Daruis and Isabela, a special Goddaughter, Lina Aleixo; she also leaves to cherish her memory many additional family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Krystle Piccinino. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Ray, for their dedicated and loving care given to our mom over the past several years. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
