Obituary of Patricia A. Rowe

Patricia (Frida) Freddino Rowe, age 73, beloved wife of Gerald, entered into Eternal Life on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford with her family by her bedside after a long and courageous battle with lung disease.

Born in Bridgeport on October 2, 1948, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Fay Freddino and the late Philip Freddino. Other survivors include brothers, Philip and Richard Freddino. Pat grew up in Bridgeport where she attended St. Augustine’s School and graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School in 1966.  She married her best friend, Jerry, in 1970 and settled in Milford where they raised a family.

Pat was a registered nurse and received her degree from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1969. She went on to work as a dedicated and highly respected emergency room nurse for more than 20 years. Pat’s quest for knowledge and love of medicine led her to a variety of courses which advanced her nursing expertise. In the late 1980’s she continued her career as an admitting and post surgical discharge nurse. She had a gift for serving others and was devastated to leave the profession in 1997 when illness forced her into early retirement.

In addition to her beloved husband Jerry of 51 years, survivors include her two loving children, David Rowe and Kristen Rowe Worzel and her husband Scott and four cherished grandchildren, Connor, Skylar, Zachary and Lauren as well as many nieces and nephews. Pat adored her family and was especially proud of her children for their unwavering support and love.

Pat enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she lived vicariously through and was lovingly referred to as “Meme”. Pat had many gifts but writing was her passion. She took great pride in having many of her poems and short stories recognized and published throughout the last part of her life. Photography and art brought her peace and comfort, especially painting on canvas with acrylics and watercolors. She loved listening to music and sharing stories with her friends and family. Her infectious laugh and keen sense of humor were enjoyed by all who loved her.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at both Yale New Haven Hospital Intensive Care Unit and Branford Hospice for the kind, compassionate, and soothing care given to Pat during her stay.

Friends may greet the family to celebrate Pat’s life on Wednesday, April 27th from 5:00-7:00pm  at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull who has been entrusted with arrangements. A mass will be offered on Thursday, April 28th at 10:00 am. Please meet directly in St. Augustine Cathedral Parish, 399 Washington Ave., Bridgeport.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
