Obituary of Dorothy P. Beno

Dorothy (Previs) Beno, age 91, of Easton, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Middlebrook Farms Trumbull. Dorothy is predeceased by her loving husband George A. Beno of 62 years, and her beloved son Gary. Her parents Michael and Julia (Slivka) Previs, sisters Ethel Horvath, Eleanor Gavlik, Blanche Wargo and Ruth Bergmann, and brothers George and Robert Previs. Dorothy was born in Stafford Springs, CT on December 9, 1930. During her career years Dorothy worked as a legal secretary in Bridgeport. When Dorothy married she resided in Easton for 65 years. Dottie was a continuous member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for 81 years; sang in the choir, member of The Dorcas Mission Guild. She played tennis at the Easton Racquet Club, and belonged to the Easton Garden Club. Dorothy received countless award pins at the Red Cross for blood donations. She enjoyed watching the UConn women basketball games, and bowled with the Easton Senior Center. Danced with her partner George at the Easton Square Dance Club. And with George behind the wheel of their motorhome they enjoyed many trips throughout the USA. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include: brother Michael Previs of Trumbull; nieces Helen Mary Previs, Beverly Previs, Laurie Bergmann, Diane Cresiski, Beth Ann Bergmann-Striebel; and nephews Kenneth Bergmann and James Previs. In addition, her husband George’s sister Maryann and brother-in-law Jerry Jedow; niece Allison Gould; nephews Mark and James Jedow.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.  Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
