Obituary of Margaret M. Capozziello

Margaret "Peggy" Mary Hoyt Capozziello, age 81, of Fairfield CT passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022, in her home of 53 years with her daughter by her side. Born April 28, 1940, in Bridgeport CT, she was the daughter of the late Edward & Margaret Hoyt, and sister of Edward and the late Robert Hoyt. Peggy was a graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport CT, a homemaker, a loving wife, and mother of five.

Peggy's greatest love and accomplishment in life was being a mother and raising her five children: Russell, Duane, Craig, Kim, and Raymond. Peggy's favorite family activity was cooking "Sunday Sauce" while being surrounded by those she loved. Peggy's happiest times were spent being with her family. Peggy enjoyed over 60 years of friendship with her sisters in-law, Geri Capozziello-Benton and Carol Capozziello, along with her best friend and neighbor Charlotte Watman all raising their children together. In Peggy's later years, she enjoyed going to the racetrack on the weekends with her husband, Russell Capozziello Sr. and watching the horses run while indulging in the buffet. She enjoyed visiting open houses to see the beautiful architecture of each home. Peggy found a love for animals in her early years of life as she enjoyed sheltering and taking in stray cats to nourish them and show them what love truly is.

Peggy will lovingly be remembered and missed by the most treasured people in her life, her beloved husband of 65 years Russell Francis Capozziello Sr., and the "small army" they created together. Their children, Russell F. Capozziello Jr. and his wife Mary of Fairfield, Duane E. Capozziello and his wife Katia, of Fairfield, Craig J. Capozziello and his wife Lisa of Fairfield, her only daughter Kim M. Capozziello-Angelico and her husband Mark of Easton and her baby Raymond S. Capozziello and his wife Monica of Trumbull. Peggy's pride and joy were her 10 grandchildren, Russell, Oriana, Juliana, DJ, Nicole, Brittney, CJ, Ryan, Madison, Mark and her great grandchildren, Dominick, Jaxon, Riley, Grayson, Cayden, Carson, Kaia, and Mila.

Family and friends are invited to meet directly in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Rd., Fairfield on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial.
