She was an excellent cook and looked forward to Sunday dinners with her family. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved to giggle with her family, friends, and co-workers. She loved to have fun, go out to eat, take a trip to the casino, and especially spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a big and caring heart and opened her home to all for celebrations or whenever someone was in need. Her life was guided by her Catholic faith, and she was a longtime member of St. Lawrence Parish.

Survivors include her five children, Joseph C. Malay III and his wife Joan, Lorraine Williams, Mary Oliva and her husband Peter, Susan Skoog and her husband Richard, Karen McLaughlin and her husband Brian, a brother, James Sinclair and his wife Terri, ten grandchildren, Elizabeth Philpott and her husband Sean, Emily Hall and her husband Dan, Benjamin Malay and his wife Rebekah, Erin and Charlotte Oliva, Jonathon, Jenny and Ally Skoog and Baden and Adam McLaughlin and four great grandsons, Michael, James, Benjamin and Luke, brothers-in-law, Robert Malay and Anthony Verrilli as well as her best friend, Phyllis Crone and many nieces and nephews.
