Obituary of Andre Ulysse

Andre Ulysse, age 90, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Tertulien) Ulysse. Born in Grand Bois, Haiti on April 25, 1931, he was a son of the late Levi and Smeralda (D'otriche) Ulysse. As a young man growing up in Haiti, Andre worked as a cultivator and later owned and operated his own grocery store as the manager. He was a man of great faith and served as the leader of a men's prayer group while in Haiti and most recently as a longtime parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church, where he has built many friendships. Once he migrated to the United States in 1994, he worked at Stew Leonard's for many years before his retirement. Mr. Ulysse loved to cook but his greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent surrounded by his loving family. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving children, Paulette Lacroix and her husband Alin, Marlene Ulysse-Telfort, Soniard Catilus and her husband Fredo, Pierre Richard Ulysse and his companion Ketelie Mesidor, Mireille Ulysse-Haynes and her husband Nathan, Mimose Ulysse-Laurenard and her husband Orele; his cherished grandchildren, Sarina Ulysse, Joshua Ulysse, Alisha Durena and her husband John, Christelle Lacroix, Rebecca Catilus, Fred-Andre Catilus, Larissa Laurenard, Christabelle Laurenard, Chlaurissa Laurenard, Bianca Haynes, Leny Telfort, Vladimir Telfort, Gregory Telfort and Christina Telfort; his adored great grandchildren, Jamie Dwayne Aird Jr., and Liam Matthias Aird; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In addition to his beloved wife Marguerite of 61 years, he was also predeceased by three brothers and a sister.
