I met Joe in 2001, and we developed a wonderfully collaborative working relationship. As the years went by, we got to know more about each others’ families and he always made time to ask how things were going in my life and to update me on his family and of course, his beloved dogs. As I look at all of the “Be Kind” signs around our town, I believe that this motto encapsulates Joe – he was so very kind – and conscientious. He took the time to listen closely to my input, always made time to sit in on the training that one of my consultants was offering, and made sure he was there to provide a warm welcome and helpful feedback on how to make sure their training programs resonated with the participants. We were fortunate to spend beach time with Joe and his family at our home, and fondly remember time at his cottage and the wonderful steaks he grilled. He was also great cook! He lavished goodness on all who knew him and I know goodness and mercy followed him - to the end of his days. Pat Schneider Expert Access

I had the pleasure and privilege to partner with Joe during his career as a training manager. Our team had deep respect for his expertise and care of those he served and the way he worked. Joe always showed an interest in us individually as well--how we were doing, how our families were doing, what we were interested in as hobbies. He was a gem. Joe was the best! I smiled every time I saw him. We had the pleasure of working together for years at United Illuminating. Joe was generous with his time, calm in every scenario, and simply a great person to be around. I am saddened at his passing and send my deepest sypathy to his family.

So sad to read this. Joe was such a great guy. After the bank we worked together at UI and he mentored me through adapting to a very different culture. Both places, we had the opportunity to collaborate on projects and he always brought out the best in people. I’m sorry I will miss you on Sunday but I’m recovering from hip surgery.
