Obituary of Josephine Hopco
Josephine Naples Hopco, age 92, of Shelton, the beloved widow of John Louis Hopco, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on April 9, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Ralph R. and Sarah Cesero Naples, and was a lifelong city resident before moving to Shelton in the fall of 2017. Josephine was a graduate of Central High School and retired from the City of Bridgeport Nutrition Department.
Survivors include her loving sons, Mark R. Hopco and his wife Matilda and Paul J. Hopco and his wife Judy, her cherished grandchildren, Melissa Rose Brooks and her husband Zachary and Matthew Robert Hopco, two sisters-in-law, Ruth Hopco and Liz Csehak, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Christian P. Hopco, a brother, Thomas Naples and his wife Elaine, two sisters, Jennie Villano and her husband Andrew and Susan Kozulko and her husband Charles, and brother-in-law, Emil Petro and his wife Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Friends may greet the family on Sunday 1-4 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Masks are required for all services.
