Obituary of Evelyn P. Porter

Evelyn Porter, 97, of Shelton, passed away at Bishop Wicke Health Center, Shelton, on Sunday, December 19, 2021. She was the wife of the late Harry C. Porter, Jr. Evelyn was born in Monroe on September 17, 1924, a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Filisko Pulaski.

She grew up on the Pulaski Farm in Monroe, which is still functioning to this day. She was an early member of the Rosary Society at St. Lawrence Church and loved to vacation in Ocean City, New Jersey. True to her roots, she loved to pick blueberries at the Pulaski Farm with her sister-in-law Ruth Pulaski. She canned vegetables and made jams and jellies and enjoyed making french toast for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Gail Heyse and her husband Eric of Shelton, Lynn DeJesus and her husband Joseph of LaGrange, KY, and Beth Cairone and her husband Carmine of Shelton; her daughter-in-law Mary Porter of Monroe; her grandchildren and their spouses Adrienne Drotos (Bill), Eric Heyse II (Morgan), Carmine Cairone III (Nikki), Christian Cairone, Damien DeJesus, Katie Porter, Jillian Porter, William Porter III (Carolan), Colleen McQuay (Derek), and Maggie Porter; as well as her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Avery, Emersyn, Savannah, Adeline and Clark.

In addition to her husband Harry, she was predeceased by her son William Porter, her granddaughter Alexis DeJesus, her brother Frederick Pulaski and her sisters Mildred Rogowski and Irene Cennamo.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bishop Wicke Health Center for their compassionate care.

During these times, funeral services will be private. Interment will take place in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
