Obituary of Nina A. Sica Collins

Nina A. Sica Collins, age 49, beloved wife of Richard Collins of Stratford, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Manhattan, New York on February 13, 1972. She was a daughter of Caroline Genovese Sica and the late Joseph A. Sica and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

Nina was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Trumbull and received her Bachelor's Degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College. She worked for many years in the hospitality industry and as a medical records administrator for Holbrook Hospital in Westport and Stamford.

Nina enjoyed drawing and painting. She especially loved spending time sharing her creative talents with her nieces and nephew whom she adored and cherished. Nina was a great fan of music, especially 80's rock and enjoyed watching movies with her husband and family. She was a New York sports fan and liked cheering on the Rangers and Yankees. Most of all, she will be missed for her kind, compassionate personality. She was a great listener with a heart of gold, always ready to offer loving words of encouragement.

In addition to her husband Richard and her mother Caroline, survivors include a sister, Carolyn Mate and her husband Gerald, two nieces, Jacqueline and Olivia Mate and a nephew, Christopher Mate.

All are invited to meet directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
