Obituary of Marian Wegiel

Marian Wegiel, beloved husband of Halina Karwowski Wegiel, was taken peacefully by the Lord’s hands into heaven on December 2, 2021.  He was born in Poland on August 3, 1947 to Izydor Wegiel and Honorata Dynak Wegiel.

He will be dearly missed by his two beautiful daughters, Margaret Pereira and her husband John Paul Pereira, and Theresa Wegiel Burden and Brian Anthony Hudak.  Marian’s pride and joy were his all of his grandchildren Jacob Jesse Wegiel Burden and his fiancée Shannon Marie Hefferle, Timothy Tyler Pereira and his wife Nicole Morahan Pereira, Daniel MJ Pereira, Michael Lucas Burden, Patrick Gabriel Burden, Cassie Halina Pereira and Samantha Marie Pereira. He also leaves behind sister-in laws Marianna Turski and her husband Eugene, Anna Karwowski, Jadwiga Wegiel and  husband John Wegiel; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Marian was employed by Handy and Harman as a Group Leader from 1969-2002 and upon retirement worked as a production inspector for ECA in Shelton and at Lowes.  He had a very strong work ethic and above all, faith, family and food were his foundations in life.  He was a devout practicing Catholic, President of Polish Saturday School, and member of the Polish National Alliance.  He enjoyed traveling the world with his “Hany,” “Nanny,” and all of his family.  “Dziadziu, Marian, Dad”, would raise his hand with a toast at life’s celebrations “Na Zdrowie” to all.

Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. David Jutkowitz for the many years of care given to our father and generations of family care to so many in his practice.  “Dziadziu…” we love you so very much, “Z Bogem. Be with God,” Until we are together once again.

Funeral services will be private for friends and family.
