Obituary of William F. Augustine

William F. Augustine, age 77, of Shelton and formerly of Stratford, beloved husband of Karen Bayus Augustine, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Born in Greenwich on July 31, 1944, he was a son of the late Andrew and Mary Chemilec Augustine. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a retired water pollution control foreman for the Town of Stratford.

A true family man in every sense; he adored his wife, children and grandchildren. Family meant the world to him and they always came first. He attended his children's events growing up and was always there to cheer on his grandkids at their sporting events and functions. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, Karen, survivors include his four loving children, Tracy R. Augustine and Melissa Lawrence of ME, William C. Augustine and Michelle of Stratford, Mark W. Augustine and Teresa of Southbury and Michael J. Augustine and Alicia of Watertown, eight adored grandchildren, Petty Officer 3rd Class, Andrew J. Augustine, Billy, Olivia, Ava, Alex, Michael (MJ), Lucas and Charlotte Augustine, two brothers, Frederick and Andrew Augustine, a beloved sister-in-law, Barbara Bayus, a Goddaughter Rachel Kovach, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, George and John Augustine and Virginia Calhoun.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. A walk-through visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. At the family's request, all visitors must wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit safely to ensure all guests can come through the building.

The family would like to thank the staff of the critical care unit at Bridgeport Hospital, Dr. Augustine Andou-Duku and his team, Dr. Neal Fischbach, and Dr. Nelson Chao for their compassion and professional care given to Bill during his time of need.
