Obituary of Candice Ann McGee Mahoney

Candice Ann McGee Mahoney, age 56, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 14, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on March 15, 1965, she was a daughter of Candida Poppa McGee of Oxford and John J. McGee Jr. of Florida. A graduate of Notre Dame High School of Fairfield Class of 1983, she attended Sacred Heart University and was formerly employed by the City of Bridgeport Public Works Department. An artist at heart, she loved to draw paintings and murals. She also loved to spend time in Florida, enjoying the peace and serenity of the sun. But above all she was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. Candice loved time with her family and the memories they created will live in their hearts forever. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her mother Candida and her father John and his wife Dorlyn, survivors include her loving sister, Kim Jack and her husband Douglas of Oxford, cherished nieces, Tara Lynn Viglione and her husband Edward and Samantha Morgan Jack, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Candida and Daniel Poppa and John Sr. and Emma McGee. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. At the family's request, all visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.
