Obituary of Mary C. Testani

Mary "Carmel" Testani, age 87, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. She grew up in Bridgeport and lived most of her life in Trumbull with her beloved late husband, Joseph. She was the center of her family. Carmel never missed an opportunity to show her love for others with her delicious home-cooked meals. There was a place at her kitchen table for anyone who came through her door. "Can I give you somethin' to eat?" she'd say, smiling with the sounds of Sinatra playing behind her. She was nurturing, compassionate, social, quick-witted, and stylish. She loved to sit on the beach with the legs of her lounge chair dipped in the ocean. She cherished memories of traveling to Italy and nights out dancing in her youth. She was perpetually on the telephone and always entertaining. She will be dearly missed, and her memory will be everlasting in her family's hearts and traditions.

Survivors include her devoted son, Joseph Testani and son-in-law Kevin Higgins, son-in-law, Attorney Richard Kascak Jr.; grandson, Richard G. Kascak III and his fiancé Lauren Douglas, granddaughter, Dr. Lauren Kascak Toft and her husband David; great-grandchildren, Richard and Robert Kascak, a brother, Jerry Braca and his wife Bonnie, a sister, Leticia Ciccio, sister-in-law, Frances Osterberg as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph Anthony Testani, daughter Veronica Kascak, and parents Raphael and Elizabeth Calabrese Braca.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11:00 a. m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

A walk-through visitation will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building. The family requests that loved ones consider a donation to The Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org/ct in memory of Carmel, in lieu of flowers.
