Obituary of Philip L. Napolitano

Philip L. Napolitano, age 77, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Barbara Serra Napolitano, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2021 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on August 10, 1944, he was a son of the late Philip P. and Florence (Cagginello) Napolitano. Philip obtained his bachelor's degree in Education, a master's Degree in Guidance and his sixth-year certificate in administration all from the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Napolitano then began a 38-year career in teaching as a 4th and 5th grade teacher at Booth Hill School in Trumbull, where he built many lasting friendships. He was loved and admired by both students and his fellow teachers. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to Barbara, his beloved wife of 53 years, other survivors include his two loving daughters, Cara Rachinsky and her husband Greg of Darien and Mia Lagravinese and her husband Robert of Miller Place, NY, his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Anthony, Lina, Enzo and Téa, his brother, Robert Napolitano of Trumbull, his sister-in-law, Natalie Shawah and her husband Tom of Palm Coast, FL, as well as his nieces, Nadine and Alana Shawah.

We are especially thankful for the loving and compassionate care provided by Vitas Healthcare. Their dedication to Phil was unsurpassed during his extended illness. Our most sincere gratitude goes to Erica, Monique, Mini, Jill, Milaine, Nadia and Amanda. Vitas is nothing short of exceptional in the level of care they provide to their patients.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
