Obituary of Luigi Paniccia

Luigi Paniccia, age 88, of Monroe, beloved husband of the late Elvira Sallati Paniccia, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2021 with his loving family by his side. A son of the late Carlo Paniccia and Eletra Savo Paniccia, Luigi was born in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy, on March 16, 1933, and immigrated to the Unites States in 1970. He very quickly found his career with Fusco Construction and was a member of the Laborers Union Local 665.

An avid gardener, Luigi took great pride in his garden and could always be found tending to his vegetables. But above all he was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The unconditional love he gave and values he taught will live in their hearts forever. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.

Survivors include his two loving sons, Carlo Paniccia and his wife Elaine of Shelton and Joseph Paniccia and his wife Anna of Trumbull; four cherished grandchildren, Louis Paniccia and his wife Melina, Daniela Vespucci and her husband Anthony, Rosemarie Carneiro and her husband Jeff, and Laura Paniccia and her wife Traci; seven adored great-grandchildren, Giancarlo, Michela, Luca, Mila, Leila, Christian, and Letty; his companion, Virginia LaQuesse, a brother Domenick Paniccia and his wife Maria; a sister, Carolina Paniccia; brother-in-law Arduino Sallati; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he is predeceased by his brothers and sisters Carlo Sebastiano, Vincenza and Antonia Paniccia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in the Mt. Grove Cemetery Pilgrimage Mausoleum, Bridgeport. A walk-through visitation will take place on Monday, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
