Obituary of Leonard A. Stowell Sr.

Leonard A. Stowell, Sr., age 53, of Milford, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Leukemia on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Bridgeport on December 2, 1967, the son of Judith Buck Barlow of Oxford and the late Douglas Stowell, Sr.

Lenny was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport, CT. He was a professional truck driver and loved being on the open road. He was happily married for many years to Melissa Torrens and they had two beautiful children together until they parted ways in 2007. His greatest enjoyment was being a father and a proud Pop to his new granddaughter Leah. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he loved the New York Yankees, and his precious dog, Chuey. Lenny was charming and everyone loved his beautiful blue eyes, big smile, adorable dimples, and his great head of hair. Some of his happiest times were spent vacationing with family in Florida, Pennsylvania and the Jersey Shore. One of his greatest gifts was being strong and being able to laugh even in the most trying of times. He had a passion for fishing, boating, and going to the beach. Lenny was quite the comedian, he loved making people laugh with his funny stories and jokes that never stopped.

Lenny is survived by his beloved mother, his stepfather Richard, his adoring daughter, Kathleen Weinzierl and her husband Chad, his loving son, Leonard A. Stowell, Jr. and his fiancé Carly Ring, his affectionate sister, Elizabeth Ciotta and her husband Anton, his cherished sweet granddaughter, Leah Weinzierl, his nephew, Eddie Gibson and his niece, Tiffany Gibson, great nephew Liam Friot as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Douglas Stowell, Jr and his sister, April Stowell.

On behalf of Len and his family, we are so grateful and would like to thank the Smilow team at Yale for everything they did for him.

All funeral services will be held privately. Arrangements in care of the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
