Obituary of Aurelio N. Carmolingo

Aurelio N. Carmolingo, age 89, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Carmella Silano Carmolingo, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Flumeri, Italy on November 17, 1931, he was a son of the late Michele and Raffaella Arcobelli Carmolingo and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

For many years before his retirement, Mr. Carmolingo worked as a mason contractor. He enjoyed gardening; riding in his convertible; hosting extravagant family gatherings, especially for Christmas Eve; meticulously tending to his pristine yard; and masterfully playing cards. A true Italian, he loved having pasta with homemade gravy and wine for dinner daily. Above all, his fondest times were when he was with his children and grandchildren. He is truly missed and loved by his family.

Survivors include his five loving children, John Carmolingo (Pattie), Mary Jane Caron (Mark), Richard Carmolingo, Michelle Loschiavo (Carmen) and Lynn Kuruc (Raymond) a sister Pepina Carmolingo of Italy, 14 grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Brianna, Nicholas, John Michael, Christian, John Richard, Taylor, Julia, Alyssa, Lauren, Alex, Josh and Ryan and two great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Carmolingo, two brothers, John and Rocco and a sister, Phyllis, all in Italy.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 12:00 pm directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull. Entombment will follow at the Garden Mausoleum in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. A walk-through visitation will take place on Wednesday (TODAY) August 11, from 4:00–7:00 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT 06611. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.
