Obituary of Orlando Laracuente

Orlando Laracuente, age 72, of Monroe passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mercedes (Muniz) Laracuente. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on December 8, 1948 he was a son of the late Pascual and Laura Perez Laracuente. A proud U.S. Marine Corp veteran, Orlando served honorably during the Vietnam War. Orlando had worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections where he retired as a Lieutenant after many years of dedicated service. He was a man of great faith and his love for the Lord was satisfied while serving as an Elder at New Life Church, Trumbull where he built many friendships. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and also was an avid golfer, enjoying his games at Whitney Farms golf course. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, papa, brother and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Mercedes of 45 years, other survivors include his loving children, Aaron Laracuente of Orlando, FL and Christina Stier and her husband Wade of St. Petersburgh, FL, his cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia and Tristan Stier, his siblings, Raymond, Arnaldo, Pasqual, Carlos, Victor, Alicia, Julia and Blanca Laracuente as well as several nieces and nephews.
