Obituary of Elizabeth A. Olofson

Elizabeth Albanese Olofson, age 73, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on October 7, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Antoinette Romano Albanese.

A lifelong Bridgeport resident, she was a retired administrative assistant at Sacred Heart University. Betty enjoyed cooking and spending time with her two beloved sons and her five cherished grandchildren. The unconditional love she gave will forever live in their hearts. Betty's life would not have been so meaningful without her blessed and dear friend Barbara of over 50 years. She will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include two loving sons, Brad Szerszen and his wife Jennifer of Middlebury, and Todd Szerszen of Oxford, five cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Camryn, Skyler, Ethan and Cora, as well as many close friends.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with close friends and family on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. Betty's wishes were to have donations made to Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center at Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, 267 Grant Street, Bridgeport, CT 06610.
