Dear Pilar and Family, What a beautiful Mass today in honor and memory of Juan. Your sons and brother-in-law did beautiful tributes to him. When my husband got laid off from his job after 30 years Juan tried to help him. He wanted him to go back
to school for a little bit to be trained to teach students tool making. Bob had already secured a position else where and it would have been hard for him to manage school and work so he decided against it. We will never forget his kindness in trying to help Bob. With our deepest sympathy, prayers and love to you and your wonderful family! Bob & Marie Sadowski

Querido primo Juan:
Querida Pilo, queridos Craig y Keith y familias:

Todavía no lo he asimilado.

Pilar & Family...my heart is crying and my prayers are with you. I met Juan when I worked part time at the Shehan Center many years ago ... Mom, Marion Anctil was the full time secretary to George & knew Juan best but I remember him well as always smiling & caring deeply for the kids at the Center. We had just recently reconnected on facebook & I was so happy to see his smiling face again. My deepest condolences

I was thirteen when I first met this "larger than life" guy! He would oft-times visit our home along with a number of other folks who came to just hang around and talk. I suppose I should thank my sister Sally for this. Talking was definitely one of Juan's more profound character traits. Passionate and extremely likable..one could not help but immediately love him. May God provide comfort to those he has temporarily left behind. May He also extend to a peace that will allow you to mourn less and celebrate more a life that was such a positive influence on so many.

On behalf of the entire 'Bruno' family, we wish to express our sincere sorrow, condolence, and prayers. His life passion was to help everyone, always deferring self, insuring our issue's went first. His family, friends, associates were always priorities, and no challenge fazed him. Reflecting on his earlier baseball interest , i was proud to call him my teammate, on those Cuban teams, and he educated, all of us how the game should be played. May he 'Rest in Peace', to be remembered in our prayers, as he keeps a watchful eye over us. Thanks Juan, say hello, to my brother 'Charlie', and 'Albert'. Respectfully, Ken and Sandi Bruno, and family.

To Pilar and the entire Lopez family,
Sandy, and I want to extend our deepest sympathies. Juan was the smartest educator I've ever known who embodied that unique mix of intellect and common sense that we appreciated and loved especially in the technical school system. Personally,he was my mentor, consigliere, and lunch buddy. I'm certain the many people who know him, will miss him greatly. There will be only one Juan Lopez in a lifetime. He was kind, smart, and funny and if you needed a favor he would help unconditionally. I lost count of the number of people he recommended to me for hire, many of whom were poor and new to this country. Humanity lost with his passing. I'm heart broken as I'm certain are his friends and family. Gone is that wily smile and those UCLA lunches. I can still hear him make an endearing comment in Spanish at the end of our conversations. At least that's what i assumed. I wasn't always sure if he was swearing at me. He did so much for so many and will always live in my heart and memory. He was beautiful.
