Obituary of Amandio Alves Costa

Amandio Alves Costa, age 87, left us to reunite with his late and beloved wife Elisa Ramos Costa, on Wednesday June 30th, 2021. He passed away at peace surrounded by his family in his last moments. Amandio was born in Vidago, Portugal on March 12, 1934. He was the son of the late Antonio Manuel and Olivia Alves DaCosta.

Amandio's survivors include several siblings in both Portugal and the United States. Amandio leaves behind three loving children, João Costa and his wife Maria Nazare Costa, Maria Jose Morais and her husband Jose Candido Morais, and Marco Paulo Costa and his wife Maria Isabel Costa. He is also survived by his five cherished grandchildren, Bruno Miguel Morais and his wife Denise Theresa Morais, Vanessa Olivia Morais, Paul Joseph Costa, Victoria Maria Costa, and Alexander Moura Costa. In addition, he is survived by his great granddaughter Natalie Grace Morais. Amandio was also looking forward to meeting his soon to be great grandson, Jacob Leo Morais.

His happiest times were spent surrounded by his beloved grandchildren and great granddaughter and found much joy in telling stories of his life experiences. Amandio was a member of the Portuguese Cultural and Civic Center in Bridgeport, CT where he enjoyed passing time with friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 5, 2021 at 11 am directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. He will be interred peacefully in Anelhe, Portugal where his body will rest next to his late wife Elisa, who he loved so dearly. Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
