Obituary of Yola M. Kost

Yola M. Pellegrino Kost, age 78, of Trumbull, and Davenport, Florida passed peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, May 13, 2004 with her loving family by her side at Bridgeport Hospital Hospice following a brief illness. She was born in Bridgeport to Ernesto and Italia Verrilli Pellegrino of Castelfranco in Miscano, Italy and was a Trumbull resident for the past 40 years, wintering in Davenport, Florida for the past 10 years. Yola was a graduate of the Cadet Nursing Program at Bridgeport Hospital, and then became Head Nurse of the Childrens Floor at Bridgeport Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted and loving husband of 54 years and best friend and soul mate, Edward G. Kost of Trumbull, her cherished and devoted children, Kathi Kost Hulse of Sandy Hook, Skip Kost and his wife, Chicki and granddaughter, Ashley of Stratford, Susan Kost Louis and her husband, Dick and grandchildren, Matthew, Emily and Molly of Guilford, a sister, Jennie Esposito of Naples, Florida. Yola also leaves behind her beloved dog, Muffin. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Amelia Tomassiti and Vera Weiser.

Yola will be greatly missed by all who came into her light. She was a ray of sunshine who led a charmed and happy life that was filled with all kinds of adventures that took her around the world. Yolas family was her inspiration and her greatest joy. Her family and friends will always remember her gentle, kind, caring and thoughtful nature, especially her incredible sense of humor and her love of a great card game especially May I and bridge. She also enjoyed a day at the casino. 

Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, May 17, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Temporary entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford with final entombment to take place at the Saint Monica Mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, Yolas family would greatly appreciate, memorial contributions to be made to Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Attn: Grammys Fund, 405 Church St., Guilford, CT 06437.
