Obituary of Cecelia M. Finnell

Cecelia M. Pawlak Finnell, age 92, of Sandy Hook, beloved wife of the late John Finnell passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on June 18, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Terrifay Pawlak.

Before her retirement Cecelia was a real estate agent for many years. She enjoyed trips to the casino and being on the beach. She was always a happy person but was the happiest when she was spending time with her family in Rhode Island and being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving person and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include a son, Michael Brennan and his wife AnnMarie of Sandy Hook and six grandchildren, Kristen Brennan, James Brennan, Kyle Brennan (Cara), Katelyn Bartone (Ben), Kara Gomes (Jeff) and Lauren Brennan as well as nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased her first husband Thomas Brennan and two sons, Thomas Joseph Brennan and James Christopher Brennan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 10:30 am in St. James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford.

A walk-through visitation will take place on Friday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 am in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.
