Obituary of Fernando V. Frillici

Fernando V. Frillici, age 92, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Clara Ozzi Frillici, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Scranton, PA on June 3, 1928, he was a son of the late Leonello and Henrietta Ranocchia Frillici. A World War II Veteran and a member of the 2nd graduating class of Fairfield University, Fred went on to become a Senior Scientist and Research Chemist at American Machine & Foundry (AMF).

As an active sportsman, conservationist, and past president of the Fairfield County League of Sportsman Clubs, he was awarded "Outdoorsman of the Decade" in 1999. He served as the CT representative for the Atlantic State Marine Fishery Commission. As a Sr. Instructor with the CARE program he introduced over 5,000 youths to fishing. But above all faith and family was at his core. He was a steward of Italian traditions, which is part of his legacy and a friend to all who came to know him.

He was predeceased by a son Fred V. Frillici Jr., a grandson Tyler Frillici and his sister, Norma Verdisco. In addition to his beloved wife of 68 years, Claire, survivors include his loving children, Tom & Pat Frillici of Trumbull, Teresa Elia of Milford, Paul & Kari Frillici of Thousand Oaks, CA, Lisa & Michael Friedrichs of Fairfield and Mark & Jane Frillici of Fairfield, 15 grandchildren, Jarrit & Pegah, Lauren & Joe, Matthew & Perrin, Gregory & Madeleine, Meredith & Craig, Julia, Will, Lucas, Julian, Michael, Ben, Peter, Kyle, Megan and Olivia; six great grandchildren, two brothers, Don & Liz Frillici and Jim & Joann Frillici, all of Trumbull, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Due to the concerns at this time associated with social gatherings, all funeral services and interment will be held privately for the immediate family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to CT Aquatic Resources Education (CARE) program, c/o Fisherman Fred, 364 North Branford Rd., Killingworth, CT 06419.
