I knew Brian or BV as we called him when we worked together in Baltimore. Brian was truly kind to me and would always go out of the way to make me feel special. There was a day I said I was hungry but had to go to a meeting. By the time I got back to my desk, BV had bought me breakfast and had it waiting for me. Several interactions and he just had such a good heart and was a joy to chat with. To hear that he’s gone is so saddening but thinking back to my time with him, I’m glad I got to know him and I consider it such a privilege to have had him in my life.

Dear Vogel family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot tell you how saddened we were to find out about Brian's passing. He was always so full of life and will be missed dearly by many.
After we heard of his passing,a group of his friends began to recount our endless stories of Brian. Each story left us laughing so hard it brought us to tears. He left such a lasting impression on everyone he touched and always had us smiling.
When we were young, Brian would simply walk in through the front door of our house like he lived there. He didn't knock and he didn't need to knock because he was simply a part of our family. If there was a major family event or if we needed a helping hand, you could always count on Brian being there because that was the type of person he was. He was full of life and his spirit and memory will live on forever in those touched by his life.
Please know that Brain and your family are in our prayers.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Brian's passing. Throughout my four years of high school, Brian was one of my primary support team helping me get around St. Joes. He had a good heart and was always willing to lend a hand. My heart goes out to the entire Vogel family and please know how much Brian made my high school life not just enjoyable but possible being as a person in a wheelchair. Rest in peace my friend. -- Michael Boyce

Brian epitomized the all the best of his family - his parents Mark and Donna, and his brother AJ and sister Christen. He was an amazing person, and I know that everyone who was blessed enough to know him is a better person by far.
May you find comfort and peace in all of the treasured memories you have and in knowing what a difference Brian made.

Dear Mark and Donna, I’m so heartbroken to hear this sad news about Brian. When I was working at Saint Joe’s high school I remember him coming into guidance and we would sit and chat, his smile always brought a smile to my face. He was such a kind soul and I can’t even imagine what you’re going through right now. I’m glad I got to meet him and will always have the best memories of your beautiful son. I wish you and your family peace in the days to come....Mary Wilson

There are no words to express how saddened I am at the loss of Brian. His smile in this photo is as sweet as he was and I always remember him this way. It was a blessing to be his 3rd grade teacher. In my classroom Brian was loved by everyone and so very kind. He always knew how to make us laugh and cheer his classmates up. My fondest memory is when Brian would pull up his chair and join me at my desk for snack time, along with getting his buddies to join us too! I still see his little face in-front of me telling me a story or two. May you all find comfort in your loving memories you have and know that my love and prayers are with you all at this time of sorrow and grief. Brian was an Angel on earth and now your Angel above. May he rest in the arms of the Lord in Heaven. May God give you all strength to get through this difficult time. All my love is with you. Miss G.
