Obituary of Waldron Jerome Finnegan

Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Waldron (Wally) Jerome Finnegan Sr., age 81, of Oronoque Village, beloved husband of Suzanne Youngblood Finnegan, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 23, 2010 with his family by his side. Born in Springfield, MA on April 2, 1929, he was a son of the late Edward and Helen Waldron Finnegan. Wally was a graduate of the American International College in Springfield, MA and obtained his Masters Degree at the University of Hartford. He was employed by United Technologies for 25 years, having worked for Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks and finally retiring from Norden Systems in Norwalk in 1989. He also taught MBA courses at the University of Hartford for many years. A true family man, he enjoyed his time spent with his adoring wife. He enjoyed traveling the world with her and just being together. He truly was a whose positive and hard working values will always live on with his family. Wally was a kind, caring and easy going guy, who if you came in contact with him, you couldnt help but love. An avid sportsman, he loved his game of golf with his friends at Oronoque Village, and also enjoyed tennis, skiing and hockey. He will be deeply missed by everyone. He was predeceased by his brother Gerald Finnegan. In addition to his adoring wife of 16 years, Suzanne, he is survived by his five loving children, Waldron J. Finnegan Jr., and his wife Sonia of Tolland, Mark Finnegan and his wife Antonia of Somers, Shawn Finnegan and his wife Michelle of Tolland, Richard Lees Jr. and his wife Marge of Somers and Deborah Zsebik and her husband Charles of Fairfield, fifteen cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Mark, Sarah, Tamara, Jericho, Galen, Colin, Ethan, Elisabeth, Julian, Leah, Chuck Jr., Ryan, Rick Jr. and Robert, four great grandchildren, Finnegan, Caleb, Ella and Shaelyn; his father and mother in law, Willard and Margaret Youngblood of Oronoque Village, as well as many dear friends. The family would like to thank all of the home health care aides that generously assisted in his care during this time. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Private Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery, Enfield. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
