Obituary of Donald W. Kimsey
Donald W. Kimsey, age 80, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Pamela Grasso Kimsey, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020.
Donald was born in Hackensack, New Jersey to Willard and Madeline Kimsey on Mother's Day, May 12, 1940. He was a longtime resident of Norwalk, before relocating to Trumbull with his daughter in 2013. A graduate of University of Bridgeport, Donald married his college sweetheart, Pamela J. Grasso on October 23, 1966. He worked as a Charted Market Technician for Dean Witter Reynolds, Smith Barney and Cantor Weiss. Donald served in the Army at Fort Dix in New Jersey. On January 15, 1970 and August 23, 1973 respectively, he welcomed his son and daughter, who were the most important part of his life.
Donald was a devoted father, avid bridge player as well as a huge fan of the Yankees and Giants. He enjoyed reading, cooking soup and chili for his family and friends, being charitable and learning about history. He loved to talk about the game of baseball. He also enjoyed coaching his grandson's little league team and his son's Cranberry baseball teams. Additionally, one could find him in attendance at his son's high school football games and his daughter's high school volleyball games. Donald was heavily involved with the Home School Association for Central Catholic High School, located in Norwalk. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Donald is survived by his sister Anne Brackman of Vero Beach, Fl., his two children, Darren Kimsey and wife, Jessica, of Shelton and Heather Perry, and her husband, Joseph, of Trumbull and six grandchildren, Alysa and Aidan Perry and Jillian, Jacob, Valentina and Preston Kimsey.
Due to the concerns about social gatherings affecting us all at this time, all services will be held privately. Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
