Evelyn Lucy DiLalla, age 93, beloved wife of John DiLalla, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Bel-Air Manor with her husband by her side. Born in Bridgeport on October 15, 1926, she was the youngest daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Tedesco) Lucy and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport before moving to Newington two years ago.

Evelyn volunteered at St. Catherine of Siena School in Trumbull as the librarian and later became the secretary at the school from the mid-1970s until her retirement in 1990. Her comforting presence in the office made her beloved by students, faculty and parents. She served St. Catherine of Siena School with love and over 20 years of dedicated service.

In addition to her beloved husband John of 70 years, survivors include her loving daughters, Nancy Pires and her husband Antonio and Noel Sherman and her husband Anthony. In addition to her daughters, she leaves behind the joys of her life, her three cherished grandchildren, Celina Pires Bair and her husband Eli, Olivia, and Katie Sherman. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Lucy and three sisters, Genevieve Marcello, Mildred Bonazzo and Elizabeth Ciccone.

Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family. She was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She adored her husband, daughters and granddaughters and treasured every moment with them. Her love for her "stories", Ritz Crackers with peanut butter and Friday nights with her sisters are treasured memories. Her home was full of laughter and all were always welcome to visit, especially at the pool during the summer months.
