Obituary of James Kernicky

James Kernicky, age 74, of Trumbull, died on Sunday, March 15, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Michael and Annie Mitro Kernicky, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr Kernicky was a retired salesman for A.N. Deringer, and worked over 35 years in the transportation industry. He was an avid music lover and enjoyed playing the piano.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his wife, Shirley Dushugian Kernicky. Survivors include his two loving daughters, Carol Koumbaros and her husband Gus of Shelton and Barbara Haeger and her husband Kurt of Monroe, five grandchildren, Evan, Kate, Steven, Alexandra and Benjamin and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension, Trumbull with Rev. Untzag Nalbandian officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. A wake service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
