Obituary of Michael J. Kelly

Resident of Bridgeport Michael J. Kelly, age 88, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Frances Casimiro Kelly, died on Sunday, April 10, 2011 in the Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Born in Staten Island, New York on August 7, 1922, he was the son of the late Owen and Mary McLoughlin Kelly. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the European theater of operation. He owned and operated Kellys Corner, Nash Amusement Vending and Together Jeans Clothing Outlet. Mr. Kelly had two passions in life, working for the benefit of youth in the community and enjoyed a variety of sports. He combined these two passions by serving for many years as the baseball and basketball coach for St. Raphaels C.Y. O. and school. He was blessed with unshakeable faith with the Lord who called him home. In addition to Frances, his beloved wife of 63 years, survivors include a son Robert J. Kelly of Florida, two granddaughters, Michele Evan and Lori Ann Kelly, a great granddaughter, Cayley Kelly, and several loving nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, Michael J. Kelly Jr. and a sister Margaret Wolynec. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
