Dear Emil and family, My love to all of you. Ruthie and Emil were always very special to me and I was truly blessed to have them both in my life. Their son, John, was the love of my life and for that again, I was blessed. You were all family to me. Time goes by, but memories are everlasting. Ruthie I am very sorry that I didn't get to speak with you, although I did send you a note of inspiration. My love to you, Ruthies. I truly loved you very much.

So sad to hear about Ruth’s passing. My mind keeps hearing Emil’s voice calling out ‘Ruthie’ at the store as all of us were in and out buying our lunch or snacks. She was such an elegant lady and a perfect match for Emile. Rest In Peace, ‘Ruthie’.

Dear Justo family, I am saddened to hear of your loss, May she rest in peace. Your family was a huge part of my childhood, which has nothing but great memories for me. I remember Emil taking me for Tony's hot dogs on my birthday every year, to eat as many hot dogs as I could, and he did this for many years. Ruthie and Emil would take me for ice cream in the Thunder bird convertible, on some hot summer nights, I believe it was Jans. I have great memories of card games in the store basement. I Cherish the work ethic I learned loading shelves and making deliveries for Ruthie and Emil. I know I speak for my entire family when I say our hearts and prayers go out to the family, May God Bless you all. Lots of Love, Robert Buto

Sending our condolences to the entire family from the whole Phillips Family (Bx Blvd). Ruth touched everyone of our lives at some point in our lives. Her store was frequented often by our entire family. We were always treated like the neighborhood family. Good times in our lives never to be forgotten hanging out in front of the store with friends.
