Obituary of Adel A. Karam

Resident of Westport Adel Karam, age 66, of Westport, died on Sunday, July 9, 2006 in Stamford Hospital. Born in Cairo, Egypt on May 21, 1940, he was a son of the late Antoine and Alice Aon Karam. Mr. Karam moved to the United States in 1972 from Egypt. He resided in Long Island and Manhattan before moving to Westport in 1989. He worked as an insurance agent for Prudential Life Insurance and was an assistant vice-president of Bank of Boston for 16 years before becoming a senior bank examiner for the New York State Banking Department, where he worked for the last ten years up until a month before his passing. A very family oriented man, he was fluent in four languages and enjoyed cooking and taking family trips. Survivors include four children, Vanessa, Samantha, Michael, and Alexander Karam, two brothers in Egypt, a sister in Canada and numerous cousins in many countries. He was predeceased by a brother. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Luke Church, 84 Long Lots Rd., Westport on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
