He and fellow friends, were testimony to the patriosm, and sacrifice 'Veterans' make to insure our 'Country' enjoys the freedoms, many take for granted. 'Our Flag' does not fly, because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each 'Veteran', Soldier, Sailor, Coast Guardmen, Marine,Airman, who died to protect it.Respectfully, Ret. 1st. I was so sorry to read of Charlie's passing. Many years ago, when I was a young teacher at St. Patrick School in Bridgeport, I met the Bruno family when Robin was one of my second grade students. I got to know the family, and over the years we kind of kept in touch, mostly by running into each other at Stop and Shop or at Sunday Mass. I will never forget how Charlie hired me to work the Bridgeport playgrounds during the summer between school terms and the kindness shown to me at Robin's First Communion party, where I felt like an honored guest.
Charlie was a lucky man to have the love of a wonderful family, grandchildren to cuddle spoil, and many friends who enjoyed his humor and good cheer. Phyllis, Robin, and Craig, be comforted by the knowledge that you all were the center of Charlie's life, and as much as he was a gift to you, you yourselves were a blessing to him. May Eternal Rest God grant you, Charlie, and may the blessing of the Lord comfort your family
Jan Birney.

Mr. Bruno was indeed a great man. He loved his family as well as his extended family. He was extremely well known. He especially loved his one and only son Craig. He also adored his daughter Robin. Mr. Bruno had a distinct way of commanding respect all while giving encouragement and friendship. There is so much that I could say but I think it's best to let his life speak for us all...

Dear Bruno Family,
I was so saddened to read about Charlie's passing. I loved when he stopped by my office in Bassick High School and we would reminisce about the good old days. Charlie's dad and my dad (Cappy) were good friends and my dad used to speak of him fondly. Please accept my sincere condolences.
Warm regards,
Donna

Our hearts are saddened as we acknowledge his passing, our memory of his 'Life', is etched in stone, a rock solid reminder of his courage, fighting the illness, that ravaged him physically the last years. He never complained, despite the pain endured, always inquiring the well being of those he loved ,respected, and held close to his heart. As his brother, he proudly protected, all of us, and was a leader that stood his ground to represent those that were less fortunate. Our family is saddened, and will remember his strength, love of family, and never forget the values he lived for. 'Say hello', to Mom and Dad, and all our friends Charlie, keep a watchful eye over us, and 'Rest in Peace' to suffer no more. Your brother Ken, and Family
