Obituary of Jack Bonesi

Jack Bonesi, age 97, of Trumbull, CT, beloved husband of the late Michelina Melchionda Bonesi, died peacefully on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Born on January 21, 1921, in Cevo, Italy, he was the son of the late Nazzareno and Margherita Martinoli Bonesi. A proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Jack was a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and later fought in the 995th Field Artillery Battalion. Before his retirement, he was employed at Remington Arms Company. Jack enjoyed duckpin bowling, playing the accordion, wood-working and spending many hours tending to his garden. But, above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. Jack delighted in his four grandchildren – Meryl (Shane), Hillary (Anthony), Brendan and Patrick – and, later, in his four great-grandchildren – Austin, Parker, Chase and Stella - as well as in his nieces and nephews. His three daughters – Rita (Terry), Connie (David) and Jackie (David) – as well as his dear sister, Rose, will deeply miss him.

Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, will hold visitation hours on Friday, January 4, from 4 -7 p.m. Funeral services will take place on January 5 at 9:00 a.m. directly at Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s name to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 Attn: Linda Laucella. An online condolence may be left on www.abriola.com.
