Obituary of Thomas J. Dellamarggio

Thomas J. Dellamarggio, age 91, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. He was the beloved husband of the late Lena Iovino Dellamarggio. Born in Bridgeport on June 4, 1927 he was a son of the late Joseph and Tomasina Jonda Dellamarggio. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy he had served honorably during World War II. Tom was a driver for Associated Transportation with many years of dedicated service and later drove for G. Pic Construction before his retirement. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 191. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was one of the founding fathers of the Milford Riders Association. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving children, Linda Roberts and her husband Paul of Fairfield and Joseph Dellamarggio of Bridgeport, his four cherished grandchildren, Jillian Solemene and her husband Michael, Samantha Kaplan and her husband Chris, Elyse Dellamarggio and Thomas Dellamarggio, his adored great grandchildren, Rocco, Mason and Sienna, his daughter-in-law, Anne Dellamarggio of Milford, as well as several additional nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Lucille Dellamarggio, Anthony Elliano and very dear friend Frank (Chickie) for their kindness. In addition to his beloved wife Lena, he was also predeceased by 18 loving brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
