Obituary of Louisa M. Sanderson

Louisa Macisco Sanderson "Naunie", 92, passed away December 9, 2018 at her home in Woodbridge, CT. From her birth in Bridgeport, CT, on May 28, 1926 to her death, she nourished people around her with love, faith, music, and wisdom. She was born to Michael and Christina Macisco and was one of 7 children. She worked at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT for 33 years until her retirement in May of 1988.

Left to honor Naunie and remember her love are her daughter, Christine Risley, her three granddaughters, Alison Valsamis and her husband Nick Valsamis, Heather Risley and her husband Joe Lovejoy, and Nessa Risley, and her two great-grandsons, Loukas and Alex Valsamis, and so many others whose lives she blessed with her endless love.

Louisa was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary, her brothers Jimmy, Michael Jr, Como "Jerry", Nick, Ralph, and her great-granddaughter Sevasti Valsamis.

Louisa will be remembered as a bright, shining light, who brought laughter, joy, and music to the lives of everyone around her.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Rd., Woodbridge, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Louisa's name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3 Landmark Square, Suite 303, Stamford, CT 06901 and/or to AMVETS National Service, 4647 Forbes Blvd., Lanham, MD 20706.
