Obituary of Margaret Mary Brokaw

Margaret Mary (Peg) Barton Brokaw, age 99, of Newtown, beloved wife of the late Michael Brokaw, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Danbury Hospital. Born on October 6, 1919 in Mattapan, MA, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Rose Douglas Barton. A U.S. Army veteran, Peg served as a nurse during World War II. She was a retired employee of the City of Bridgeport Public Health Department; where she worked as a nurse for many years and retired as supervisor. Peg was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally and she will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include a son Michael Brokaw of Newtown, a daughter, Anne Legoza of New Mexico, three grandchildren, Michael and his wife Laura, Jennifer and her husband Ronald, and Keith and his wife Yolanda; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Carl Brokaw.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Rd., Newtown for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
