Obituary of Giulio Checca
Giulio Checca, age 86, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Anna Cipriani Checca, passed away on November 24, 2018 with his family by his side. Born on November 17, 1932 in Pettorano sul Gizio, L’Aquila, Italy, he was a son of the late John and Donata Bonitatibus Checca. Giulio came to the United States at the age of 15 and made his home in Connecticut, where he lived for the rest of his life. He was a professional carpenter with E & F Construction for more than 50 years, and a member of the Carpenters Union 210. Giulio was a lifelong gardener and loved being outdoors cultivating his vegetables and fruit trees.
In addition to his beloved wife of 60 years, Anna, survivors include two loving sons, Joseph Checca and his wife Janet of South Carolina and Michael Checca and his wife Judi of New Jersey, two cherished granddaughters, Elizabeth and Victoria, three brothers, Robert Checca and his wife Liana, Rudy Checca and his wife Florence, all of Trumbull, and Bruno Checca of Fairfield, sister-in-law Lorraine Checca of Monroe; as well as several more brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Angelina Checca, Amedeo Checca, Dora Suffoletta and Victor Checca.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Breast Cancer Research or your choice of charity.
