Obituary of Rose M. Savo

Rose Vietri Savo, age 98, of Seymour passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Chester Savo. Born in Bridgeport on September 18, 1920, she had been employed by Hawie Manufacturing of Bridgeport for many years. She was a longtime member of the Derby Senior Center for over 20 years where she many lasting friendships and accumulated numerous hours as a volunteer in the kitchen with her sister Victoria Tarner. Rose found great enjoyment cooking but her greatest pleasure was found in the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Elaine Reynolds of Seymour and Michael Savo and his wife Sharon of Milford, her daughter-in-law, Joanne Savo of Bridgeport, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Chester, she was predeceased by her son, Richard Savo, her son-in-law, John Reynolds and her grandson, William Savo. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
