Born in Bridgeport on December 3, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Zocco) Guinta. Before her retirement, she was a head inspector at Dictaphone with over 30 years of service.

Survivors include two brothers, George Guinta of Cheshire and Carmen Guinta of Trumbull, seven nieces and nephews: Bernadette Salmini and her husband Greg, Peg Guinta and her husband Philip Hogan, Gary Pia and his wife Michele, Donna Guinta, Greg Pia and his wife Rina, Tom Guinta and his wife Cindy and Carmen Guinta Jr. and his wife Kathleen, as well as many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jean Pia.

Santa, also known as “Sandy” was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport and Trumbull and also enjoyed a 25 year residence at a vacation home in Ogunquit Maine. Santa’s love for her family was most important in her life. Her sweet and giving nature was ever-present and known to everyone. She was affectionately known to family as “Cook” or “Cookie,” a nickname resulting from continuous offerings of treats and homemade foods. Her generosity was evident in many other ways including often-times sharing the beloved Ogunquit home with family through the years. Santa will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend. Her kind and loving nature will always be treasured by those who knew her and she will be sadly missed.

Friends are invited to meet directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
