Obituary of James R. Lumento

James R. Lumento, went home to Heaven surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Bridgeport Hospital. Jim was born in Stamford on May 16, 1953. He was the son of the late Ted and Marion Lumento.

Jim was a man of faith who loved God first, his family and friends and his Church with an unconditional love. He was well respected throughout the community from his years of volunteering with Little League Baseball and as coach for all three of his children for whichever sport they participated in. Jim loved playing baseball and later on in life softball. He played until he was 62 years old. He was a member of the local airplane flying club and gun club. He was an avid hunter, skier and photographer. A kind, compassionate and generous man, Jim began each day with great faith and trust in God. He was the President of State Finance Company Inc., a mortgage company, which he founded 38 years ago.

Jim leaves behind his loving wife Julie of 39 years, his three adoring children, Ashley and her husband Dan Osterrieder of Stamford, Melissa and her husband David Steeves of Trumbull, and Rob Lumento of Shelton, and his three precious grandchildren, Grace, Spencer and Chloe and numerous family members and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Cathy Heffron.

A service celebrating his life will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Tpke., Fairfield.
