Obituary of Jacinto L. Teixeira

Jacinto Lage Teixeira, age 47, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Fernanda DaCruz Teixeira, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2018 with his devoted family by his side. Born in Arcos, Montalegre, Portugal on September 7, 1970, he was a son of the late Domingos and Teresa Teixeira. Jacinto was the owner and operator of Angelo’s Pizza in Bridgeport for over 20 years.

Jacinto was a very outgoing, loving, kind and generous person. He always put the needs of all others before his own and was always there to help anyone during their time of need. Throughout his illness, he never once complained; he truly was everyone’s hero. He loved soccer, going to the beach and boating. Being a true rocker, he loved listening to Eddie Van Halen. Above all, his greatest role was that of husband and father. His girls were everything to him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 22 years, Fernanda, survivors include two cherished daughters, Erica Alexa and Katelyn Teixeira of Bridgeport, siblings, Leonilde Dinis and her husband Fernando, Amelia Pereira and her husband Tony, Ana Maria Lage, José Teixeira and his wife Lisa and Delfin Teixeira and his wife Isabel, as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Yale New Haven Hospital, especially Dr. Justin Persico and nurse Sandra Morgan for the professional care given to Jacinto.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of the Assumption, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
