Obituary of Filomena DelGais

Filomena "Nellie" D'Eramo DelGais, age 97, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Gennaro DelGais, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Born on April 5, 1921 in Introdacqua, Province of L'Aquila, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Silvestri D'Eramo.

Prior to retiring, she was employed by D.M. Reads and Macy's as a department manager.

Nellie was a strong, vibrant woman who enjoyed and treasured time spent with her family. The unconditional love she provided will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Nellie was predeceased by her beloved son Richard DelGais, daughter-in-law, Holly DelGais, son-in-law Robert Chop, brothers, Trent, Peter and Orest D'Eramo and a sister, Gloria Ferrara.

Survivors include two loving children, Michael DelGais and his wife Elaine of Monroe and Donna Chop of Oxford, seven cherished grandchildren, Michael DelGais Jr. (Carol), Michelle Garrity (Brian), Gennaro DelGais, Bethany Eastman, Chris DelGais (Krista), Nicole Concepcion (Will) and David Chop, 10 adored great grandchildren, Anthony, Michael Vance, Ashleigh, Aidan, Kieran, Hunter, Quinn, Matthew, Lilliana, and Skylar; a sister, Edith Salce (Anthony), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
