Obituary of Lucia M.C. Eltgroth

Lucia M.C. Eltgroth, age 104, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Joseph's Manor in Trumbull. Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on June 11, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Antoni and Regina Czarnecki.

After attending New Bedford High School in Massachusetts, she went on to attend Rider University in New Jersey. Lucia then worked as a translator for the United Nations Relief & Rehabilitation Agency after World War II from June 1945 through 1949. She was a beloved wife and mother and was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Trumbull.

Survivors include two loving children, a son, Stefan Eltgroth of Havre de Grace, Maryland, and a daughter, Lucia Eve Eltgroth of Trumbull and her devoted cousin, Piotr Orlanski of Trumbull. She was predeceased by her husband George and her sister, Genia.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in the Polish National Catholic Cemetery in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
