Obituary of George A. Georgette

George A. Georgette, age 85, of Stratford, beloved husband of Barbara DeLuca Georgette for 61 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 with his loving family by his side. George was born in Stratford, CT on July 25, 1932, and was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Persico Georgette. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, George was the owner of George's Barber Shop in Stratford for more than 25 years and retired from Textron-Lycoming after 15 years of service. George will be remembered as the "fix-it" man. He could fix anything and spent a lot of time woodworking. George was a graduate of Stratford High School. He could often be found hitting golf balls on the Par Three Golf Course in Stratford. Some of his favorite pastimes were, watching UCONN men's basketball games and New York Giant Football. He loved to travel with his wife and trips to Italy were the highlight of all his vacations. He also enjoyed his visits to Scottsdale, AZ, Hawaii and Florida. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his beloved wife Barbara, the love of his life, he is also survived by two loving daughters, Cynthia C. Georgette of Stratford and JoMarie Georgette DeGioia and her husband Jay of Harmony, FL, four cherished granddaughters, Julianne DeGioia Forsythe and her husband Andrew and Jamie R. DeGioia, all of Harmony, FL; Jenna L. Terribile and her fiancé Kyle Kelly of New York, NY and Nicole R. Terribile of Milford, his great grandsons, Anthony Jay Forsythe and Dominic Thomas Forsythe of Harmony, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard F. and Fred R. Georgette and a sister, Antionette (Nan) Carameta.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
