Obituary of Barbara A. Duca

Barbara A. Klembara Duca, age 77, beloved wife of Gerald “Jerry” Duca and longtime resident of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home. Born on December 2, 1940 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late John and Florence Torreso Klembara. Barbara worked for many years as a loan officer for the Bridgeport Federal Credit Union. She taught Religious Education for both Our Lady of Grace and Holy Name Of Jesus churches in Stratford. In her spare time, Barbara was an avid gardener who loved all animals. She greatly enjoyed reading, but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family the most. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband Gerald of 55 years, she is survived by her two sons, Brian Duca and his wife Laurie of Stratford and Douglas Duca of Bristol; her grandchildren, Leah Rose and Eric Duca; her brother Robert Klembara and his wife Maryellen of Oxford; her sister Marlene Dorsey and her husband Leo of Milford; and Edward and Mary Rusnak of Trumbull; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff on the 7th floor of Bridgeport Hospital as well as Elizabeth and the staff on the 3rd floor of Lord Chamberlain for their special care of Barbara during her time of need.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 4-7 PM in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, 267 Grant Street, Bridgeport, CT 06610.
