Obituary of Anthony T. Perri

Anthony T. Perri, age 82, of Shelton, beloved husband of Arlene Robel Perri, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on October 11, 1935, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Angelina DeSimone Perri. A U.S. Army veteran, Tony was a retired firefighter for the City of Bridgeport with over 25 years of dedicated service and was also an assistant warehouse manager for Connecticut Distributors.

A great athlete, he was known to many in the area as “Coach”; Tony was involved with the Bridgeport Jets, Pop Warner Football, Notre Dame of Fairfield and many other area sports programs. He was a member of the Greater Bridgeport Old Timers Athletic Association, Oronoque Country Club and B.A.R.F. He enjoyed being on the golf course and weekly coffee with his buddies.

But above all his accomplishments and roles in life, none was greater than that of husband, father and grandfather. The unconditional love he gave, and memories shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Arlene, survivors include two loving daughters, Carol Dalling and her husband Timothy of Shelton and Dawn Perri and her wife Kim Hubbard of Cape Coral, FL, two cherished grandchildren, Cody and Lindsey Dalling, as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his canine companion, Angel, who was always by his side. Tony was predeceased by two sisters, Theresa Hayden and Mary Leas.

Relatives and friends can greet the family members at a memorial gathering celebrating Tony’s life on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull from 4 – 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday May 18, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice in Tony’s memory.
