Obituary of Yolanda Testi
Yolanda Zullo Testi, age 81, of Shelton, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 3, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Bethlehem, PA on November 15, 1936 to the late Rocco and Lucy Guerrieri Zullo. She married the love of her life, Anthony C. Testi, in 1958 and settled in Stratford, CT where she raised her five children. Yolanda was employed in the Avionics Department at Sikorsky Aircraft for 17 years and retired from service in 1999.
Yolanda and Anthony retired to Sun City Hilton Head, SC where they resided for eleven years and enjoyed the peace of the South Carolina warmth, developed deep friendships with their fellow retirees and cherished their much anticipated visits from their children and grandchildren. No matter where Yolanda resided, home was supreme, a safe, loving, compassionate place filled with her well-known specialties, great food, fun and entertainment. Yolanda loved her family and friends and her life was distinguished by her hopes and wishes that each enjoyed life's most cherished blessings. Yolanda was pre-deceased by Anthony on April 10, 2009 and returned to Shelton where she lived out her life close to her family and in part, at her beloved residence at Wesley Heights Cottages.
Yolanda is survived by her five children, Beth Tiberio (Steve), Patricia Moore (David), Carmen Testi (Kim), Anthony Testi (Kim) and Rocco Testi (Shelley), eleven deeply beloved grandchildren, Alyssa Altorelli (Myles), Christopher Moore, Lauren Tiberio, Emily Moore, Olivia Testi, Anthony Testi, Kelsey Testi, Matthew Testi, Stephen Tiberio, Kayla Testi and Gianna Testi and a great granddaughter, Elliana Grace Altorelli. She is also survived by one remaining sister, Josephine Allen, brother-in-law Carmen Testi, and sisters-in-law Marie Zullo, Madonna Zullo, Rosemarie Archick and her husband Richard and Barbara England as well as many nieces and nephews. Yolanda was pre-deceased by three sisters and their spouses, Michelina Tulio and husband Albert, Lena DeSieno and husband Anthony, Marie Jakubco and husband Joseph, two brothers, Anthony Zullo and Ernest Zullo and sister-in-law Mary Ann Testi.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 AM in St Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford, CT. Friends may greet the family on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
