In my life, there are many different people who fit the definition of “hero” yet surprisingly, my biggest hero is not what would be considered as obvious in any way. It is neither my firefighter father, who is in a business that saves peoples’ lives everyday, nor is it my mother who works in the pharmacy. To even my surprise, I’ve found my grandfather, “Pop”, to be my biggest hero, my greatest fan, my truest inspiration. He is my mentor- texting me about our heritage and how to do well in life; he is my encouragement, always there for me if and when I need it; he is my motivation for making a good life for myself; he is my hero
Pop likes to make sure I never forget where I came from. For years not, he has been teaching me bits and pieces of Italian, preparing excellent Italian cuisine, and showing me how proud I should be to be a descendent if Italy. His seemingly endless knowledge and appreciation of his country is an admirable trait that I wish to possess as well. He makes me better rounded in life and more knowledgeable in foreign affairs. There is no one in my life who takes time to do so expect my grandfather and for that he is my hero.
Furthermore, when times get tough, I find myself seeking confidence in my grandfather. The extreme respect I have for him is due to the fact that he has shown me that he will always be there for me and be the push I need to do well. He cheers me on with my pursuit of soccer, even though he might not make it to every game, and always tells me how he wants me to have a nice life full of happiness and no hard times. It m and slot rock to know that in his semi-busy life, there will always be time for me. The way he never abandons me makes him in of my biggest hero’s.
Moreover, the example he sets leads me to push myself harder to earn a life like his. In his life, he has found a woman whom he can devote, made a family who he can lean on, and founded a happy hole. I trust that someday, with his guidance, I can start a life that I will be indubitably proud of. Pop has taught me a good, simple lesson, that hard work and dedication pay off. He is my hero for staying true to his own words and lessons and being the example I need in my life to shadow.
As you can see, there are many reasons that pop is a hero to me. Those reasons include his selfless commitment to reaching me about our roots, his positivity and encouragement when I am down on my luck, and the image he exudes that I choose to follow. Having Pop in my life definitely has made me a better person and taught me how to make better choices, and I am grateful of his guidance. In conclusion it is apparent that I look up to my grandfather with great fondness for he is my biggest hero.
